Since our founding in 1982, Village On The Isle (VOTI) in Venice, Florida has been committed to redefining retirement living and providing compassionate care and a unique lifestyle to seniors on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
Over the last 44 years, our community has grown to include new residences, updated amenities and new programs that meet the evolving needs of our residents. Each step of the way we retain our commitment to being a mission-driven, faith-based community that provides a welcoming environment for all.
Today, we are excited to continue this growth and expansion – with our main campus expansion and future satellite campus, Arbor Vita, a Village On The Isle community – while purposefully striving to live our mission statement every day.
Our Mission Statement
VOTI is a non-profit, faith-based organization affiliated with The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). We are committed to sharing God’s love by promoting individual growth and dignity, enhancing the quality of life and meeting the human and spiritual needs of our residents, staff and community.
Main Campus Expansion: New Residences
As the need for senior living continues to grow, living out our mission has required a thoughtful and financially responsible expansion of our campus.
In 2019, we embarked on a multi-phase renovation of our 16-acre campus. To date, we’ve added two independent living neighborhoods with a total of 46 residences and a five-star, state-of-the-art Health Center with 64 private bedrooms and bathrooms for skilled nursing.
Later this year, we will complete phase two of this renovation which will add two five-story independent living buildings and a 9,200-square-foot wellness center to our community.
Currently, our community has 234 independent living units, 48 assisted living units, 16 memory care units, and 64 private skilled nursing beds. The new independent living buildings will add 54 independent living residences ranging from 1,300 to 1,800 square feet. The buildings are 100% presold with residents expected to move in later this year.

State-of-the-art Wellness Center
The main-campus expansion will also add high-end amenities that will enhance the wellness offerings at Village On The Isle (VOTI) in Venice, Florida.
The wellness center, which will be named “The Core,” will be located at the center of the 16-acre community. It will feature a state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor pickleball court, spa and sauna, professionally branded poolside lounge, and zero-entry outdoor pool. The Core will offer a diverse calendar of fitness classes from gentle yoga and water aerobics to functional fitness and personal training.
“The demand for wellness-focused senior living communities has increased as today’s seniors care more about their physical and mental health,” said Feller. “This new state-of-the-art wellness pavilion will allow us to stay ahead of the latest trends and offer our residents the most up to date amenities that will contribute to their overall health and wellbeing.”
The spa, aptly named The Oasis, will include a full-service salon, manicure and pedicure station, and a private massage room. Outside, the pool will feature two lap lanes, a sunbathing platform, a jetted seating area and expansive shallow end to accommodate water aerobics. The pool will be flanked by outdoor seating and include a large firepit with ample seating.
The renovation will also include the addition of Brezza, a poolside lounge with indoor and outdoor seating that features a mosaic-tiled pizza oven and a full food and drink menu.
Future Plans: Arbor Vita, A Village On The Isle Community
With the main campus expansion expected to open later this year, our leadership team is already looking ahead to what's next.
In late 2025, we purchased 50.25 acres of land in Venice to serve as the site of a satellite campus, Arbor Vita- a Village On The Isle community. Arbor Vita will offer independent living apartments and cottages/duplexes with healthcare services available at VOTI’s main campus.
The property, located at 2705 East Venice Avenue, is less than six miles from VOTI’s main campus at 920 Tamiami Trail South. The proximity of our satellite campus will allow us to offer the same Life Care lifestyle that we do now and continue to serve seniors in a meaningful and sustainable way.
The site is zoned for up to 452 multifamily residential dwellings, though our leadership does not plan to develop to the full density. This will allow room for long-term growth aligned with our mission. Outdoor amenities will be a key feature of the community.
We are excited to break ground on Arbor Vita in 2027, with completion anticipated in 2030.
Expanding Our Mission in the Community
With each of these expansions, Village On The Isle can serve more seniors in our area and provide the compassionate care and active lifestyle our residents have come to expect. This has become more important in recent years as roughly 10,000 Americans reach retirement age each day.
As a Life Plan community, our residents move in when they are healthy and active and then have access to assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing as they need it. This is backed by our mission to promote individual growth and dignity and enhance our residents’ quality of life.
