  • What is a Continuing Care Retirement Community?

    A Continuing Care Retirement Community is a convenient, satisfying place to live that brings a variety of living accommodations with services and amenities along with a continuum of care that provides true peace of mind because you have the assurance of Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing care and Memory Care on the premises, should you ever need it. You live in a residential community with people who share your values, interests and outlook. You live in your own residence (apartment or cottage) with your possessions but are free from the stress of maintenance, housekeeping and meal preparation.

  • How does it differ from living at home?

    The reality is, living at Village On The Isle is like living at home. The difference is, you will gain a new maintenance-free lifestyle, new friends, convenient and varied opportunities, and the freedom you're accustomed to, but with extra comfort, ease and safety. Life at Village On The Isle will provide you conveniences such as chef-prepared meals, a wide range of social, recreational and spiritual activities and events, housekeeping services, scheduled transportation and outings, facilities and grounds care, emergency call service and much more.

  • Where is Village On The Isle located?

    Village On The Isle is located on the beautiful Island of Venice in Florida, less than half a mile from the Gulf of Mexico. You will have easy access to the shopping, restaurants, arts and cultural events, hospitals and other conveniences you would expect.

  • What about furniture, carpets, drapes and appliances?

    When you choose Residential Living at Village On The Isle, you furnish your apartment home as you like. We provide all essential kitchen appliances, granite countertops, washer and dryer, wall-to-wall carpeting, ceramic tile in your bathroom and kitchen, and window treatments. Before you move in, you will visit our design center and choose from an array of carpet and paint selections. There are even upgrades you can add to your apartment, if desired.

  • Will I be able to keep my car?

    Absolutely. There is convenient parking on site for you and your guests. Covered parking is available for residents at an additional monthly charge.

  • What happens when I travel?

    Travel as often and as long as you like—your home and possessions will remain well-attended. Your residence will be regularly checked by our security and housekeeping staff as requested.

  • What type of security is provided?

    You and your apartment will be protected by our 24-hour emergency call system and staffing, as well as lighted parking areas and walkways.

  • Will I be able to continue my special diet?

    Yes, you can. Many menu items can be cooked to order for special requests.  Meals are carefully planned and prepared to offer a wide range of options to meet special dietary requirements. Our nutritionist is available through our health & wellness program to help you select a suitable plan.

  • May I have overnight guests, and may they join me in the dining room?

    Just like in your current house or condo, your guests—children, grandchildren, friends and relatives—are always welcome. They can enjoy meals with you in the dining room for a minimal charge. Should you need it, a guest room is also available at a nominal charge.

  • Is Village On The Isle a smoke-free campus?

    Effective January 1, 2017, Village On The Isle will be a tobacco-free campus.  This includes residents, staff members, guests and visitors.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Yes. Pets are allowed and welcomed based upon registration requirements and policies of the community. In Matthew Hall, pets are restricted to the first floor only, and Trinity Hall permits pets on all residential floors.

Health Care
  • What is the Luke Haven Skilled Nursing center?

    Luke Haven offers comprehensive nursing care, plus rehabilitation services comprised of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. Residents may use the restorative programs offered to regain lost balance or improve other mobility issues. Residents always receive priority access to our health care services.

  • Is a doctor always available?

    Yes. Our health care centers assign an attending physician who is on call 24 hours a day. For Residential Living residents, we offer transportation services so you may continue to see your preferred physician. Our medical director and house calls physician is also available on-site to provide routine care and support.

  • Suppose I have a medical emergency?

    Every residence is equipped with an emergency call system that is monitored 24 hours a day. In the event of an emergency, our trained staff will respond to your needs within minutes.

  • What does the monthly service fee cover?

    Standard items included in your monthly service fee include:

    • One meal per day in our restaurant-style dining rooms

    • Laundry facilities on each floor, including detergent and bleach

    Priority Access to our Health Care Centers

    • We offer two contract options that allow you to choose how to pay for health services. Either contract provides you priority access to our quality, first-class health care centers; Mark Manor and Luke Haven. Our contract options offer a discount from the published daily rate for care, or you may also receive services at the same fee you pay while residing in Residential Living. Both plans have tremendous value and offer the true financial peace of mind you deserve.

  • Can I get a medical deduction on my income taxes if I live at Village On The Isle?

    Yes, you would benefit from both a one-time deduction for part of the Entrance Fee paid, and also an annual deduction for a portion of your Monthly Service Fee paid. Each year, we work with a third-party accounting firm to calculate the percentage of monthly fees that may be deducted, and send you a notice that you can share with your tax preparer.

  • What happens if my financial assets should be depleted through no fault of my own after I move into Village On The Isle?

    Our financial policy allows us to offer a formal resident financial assistance program should a resident deplete the funds necessary to continue living at Village On The Isle through no fault of their own. Certain conditions apply, but this is a great relief for residents.
